Chart Resources We Use

The thing that makes real-time music charting possible is instant communication, and the internet has given that to the people of the world for the first time in our history. We use that access to follow a lot of resources. Here’s a linked list of the principle charts we use. If you find something great, let us know.

(We’ve left out the various blogs and YouTube channels, download charts and the like—except as reflected in the major charts.  Suggestions are always welcome.)

Thanks. It’s sure helpful around here, though it changes a lot as sites go dark or stop updating.

Most of these seem to be pretty stable, but still, you get surprised. Radio Mirchi stopped updating for a while, which was a shame because they have hit stations all over India. I almost removed it from the list, but it turned out to be a site overhaul. I just updated it, along with IFPI Greece, though they seem to only track albums anymore. Luckily, the void is more than filled by Charly1300, who are now covering the Ellada Airplay Top 100, which compiles info from 40 different radio stations around Greece for their numbers.

Suggestions are always welcome. It’s still difficult finding reliable sources for most of Oceania besides the perimeter: New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines and Hawai’i; though Hawai’i is still mostly about chasing radio play, and the Philippines have always been hard to track.

  1. Thanks for this wonderful list
